Specialist Advice and Occupational Medicine Qualifications
The Faculty of Occupational Medicine provides education and training in occupational medicine for doctors.
There are three levels of qualification in occupational medicine. These are:
1.
Membership of the Faculty (MFOM):
o
a career specialist qualification
o
required for appointment as a hospital consultant
2.
Associateship of the Faculty of Occupational Medicine (AFOM):
o
a mid training qualification
o
aimed at doctors interested in pursuing a full-time career in occupational medicine
o
demonstrates a core knowledge in occupational medicine theory and practice
3.
Diploma in Occupational Medicine (DOccMed):
o
a basic level qualification
o
aimed principally at GPs working part-time in occupational medicine
o
demonstrates an understanding of the main issues affecting health and work
Nurse Qualifications include:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing - BsC (Hons)
Specialist Community Public Health Nursing - SCPHN
Nurse Practitioner in Occupational Health - NPOH
